Hello Mama Merlion!

When I first heard about The Merlion Hotel (as part of Singapore Biennale) , it did cross my mind to book a night's stay but I figured it would be difficult for J to join us since he's a bad sleeper and we would not enjoy it as much without him.

In any case, today's main outing with J is to the exhibit so he can "complete" his schema of Merlions (since he had seen the Sentosa version previously) and be up close with the national icon. He's taking a short nap now and I am finishing off some work (hate to do this on an offday) before we pick G from work later this evening ;)

I.love.shopping

J's first time in the supermarket trolley's hotseat. He's so curious even though it was 8 - 9 pm when we went diaper shopping... he was delighted whenever we passed him various objects to explore. I think he fancied the bag of chocolates most but obviously diapers were his main loot. I think this is a place where I can bring him to by myself! ;)

To the mall

We had lunch with M and my mum at DTF in Raffles City. M is probably a bit more attuned to the fussy side of J since he's not as angelic as when we had dim sum at Bosses 2 weeks ago. Anyhow, it was fun to bring J to Robinsons where a promoter was playing with a remote car and he could not take his eyes off the car... even after I pushed his stroller away, he kept turning back for a last glance. Mental note for myself to avoid such places when J's older and may brawl for me to buy the toys. Better interest him in the open (free) spaces :P

Catching up

This is an unintended break from the blogosphere since I had been too busy over the past few weeks with work :(

J has began to sit with a nice posture since the start of Mar and I am pleased that he has also started to recognise G and me. When we gestured to carry him, he will stretch his hands out in return and smile at us. Makes my heart melt very time (clique but true!).

He's also threw his first tantrum while I tried to feed him carrots (which he had been eating) recently. He plainly refused to open his mouth and cried even when I gave him time-out. After racking my brains, I decided to enlist G's help to pretend to eat something and J was coaxed into eating his food - all of it. J is quite a social eater and G has suggested getting a high chair for him though I am not too sure if its going to be a good buy or a white elephant!

Over the last week, J has also started to crawl backwards! I think he doesn't enjoy crawling at all and would much rather stand and walk as he's always happy to bounce in the evenflo saucer.

Another bit of information about J is that his fondness for Itsy Bitsy Spider has not diminished and he would fuss for the youtube video to be played when I do something else on my iphone. My sis has a similar red phonecase and he "bugged" her for it today (as interpreted by my mum). Sis searched for the song but J recognised it to be a fake version. His eyes finally lit up when the Baby Einstein version was played. OMG!

I have uploaded a few of my favourite shots, including our award ceremony for a Parent-Child Look Alike Contest last weekend! Haha! ;D
